We are seeking an experienced, patient-focused Registered Nurse to join a busy Family and Preventive Medicine practice in Lake Grove. You will support physicians and clinical staff delivering outpatient care to patients across a wide range of ages and tests.
The role
- Monday to Friday, eight-hour shifts scheduled between 8:00am and 6:00pm
- $42.64 to $53.25 per hour, depending on experience
- Lake Grove, NY
What you will be doing
- Direct nursing care in a family and preventive medicine setting
- Patient intake, assessment and vital signs
- Reviewing medical histories, medications and current symptoms
- Administering medications, injections and immunizations as ordered
- Blood draws, specimen collection and other clinical procedures
- Assisting physicians with examinations and in-office procedures
- Patient education on preventive care, medications, treatment plans and follow-up
- Triaging patient calls and escalating to providers where appropriate
- Coordinating referrals, testing, prescriptions and follow-up care
- Accurate, timely EMR documentation, and infection-control, patient-safety and HIPAA standards throughout
What we are looking for
- Current New York State RN license
- Previous RN experience in family medicine, primary care, internal medicine, preventive medicine, ambulatory care or a physician practice preferred
- Strong patient assessment and clinical skills
- Experience with injections, immunizations and blood draws preferred
- Confident patient educator and communicator
- EMR experience preferred
