A busy ambulatory clinic in Commack, NY is looking for an experienced RN to lead day-to-day operations and help shape efficient, high-quality outpatient care. This is a great opportunity for a nursing leader who enjoys blending clinical oversight with operational and staff management.
Schedule
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM; temp-to-perm assignment running 11/02/2026-01/29/2027.
What you will do
- Supervise day-to-day staff at the ambulatory care site
- Partner with the Department Administrator on recruitment, training, evaluations, and clinical competencies
- Triage patient phone calls and review lab reports, reporting abnormal results to physicians
- Monitor patient statistics, coordinate room utilization, and standardize procedures per DOH, JCAHO, HIPAA, and OSHA guidelines
- Update policies and procedures to meet evolving departmental needs
- Lead quality improvement projects and attend relevant meetings/trainings
- Provide nursing support to physicians and PAs, including post-op care and suture removal
- Serve as liaison between physicians, staff, and patients, resolving issues as they arise
What you need
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Active RN license in New York State
- 5+ years of nursing experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or administrative role
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Advanced nursing degree preferred
- Experience with triage and knowledge of JCAHO/HIPAA standards preferred
